SACHA BARON COHEN's QUEEN Biopic Given Title

December 1, 2011

Producer Graham King has revealed that the upcoming movie about legendary QUEEN frontman Freddie Mercury has been given the title "Mercury".

Comic and filmmaker Sacha Baron Cohen will portray the British singer in the film focusing on QUEEN's developing years up until the band's historic 1985 Live Aid set.

GK Films ("The Tourist"),Robert De Niro's Tribeca Productions and Queen Films are helming the project.

King told DigitalSpy.co.uk: "I can tell you the working title is 'Mercury'. Whether that ends up being the title of the movie, we're not sure yet."

King, who is currently promoting the Martin Scorcese-directed "Hugo", added, "He led such a big life and there's just so much to tell. Then you've got all this fantastic music. You've got to fit that in. It's not an easy one to put together, but I'm pretty confident we'll be shooting that next year."
